Hi, I’m Jess!
I’m the photographer behind Chasing Wildlight Photography, based in Mount Airy in the foothills of North Carolina, just a short drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Since 2010, I’ve been creating bold, colorful photographs for seniors, families, couples, maternity, pets, and weddings. I’m drawn to golden light, mountain views, real connection, and all those little in-between moments that end up meaning the most.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually juggling one of the two businesses I co-own with my mom, spoiling my army of fur children, spending time with my husband, heading to a concert, or re-watching Friends & Gilmore Girls for the millionth time. I’m also a huge fandom girl — Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Harry Potter, House of the Dragon — and every so often you’ll find me at a Comic-Con in costume.
My goal is simple: to create vibrant, joy-filled images that feel honest, meaningful, and unmistakably you — an artful record of now.
